Wet Utilities and Structures Services

Our Services

Quality Services

For L.H. Lacy Company, the Wet Utilities and Structures division represents the “below-ground” and “structural” backbone of their civil construction projects. These services are typically performed as part of a turnkey package to prepare a site for final paving and development.

1. Wet Utilities (Underground Infrastructure)

L.H. Lacy self-performs the installation of critical underground piping systems. Their expertise covers the three primary “wet” utility categories:

  • Water Systems: Installation of main water lines, distribution pipes, and related fittings for municipal or commercial use.

  • Sanitary Sewer: Laying the gravity-fed or force-main piping required to transport wastewater from a site to a treatment facility.

  • Storm Drainage: Construction of complex systems designed to manage rainwater runoff, including large-diameter RCP (reinforced concrete pipe) and detention systems.

2. Structures (Civil Concrete)

The “Structures” side of this service involves the specialized concrete work required to support the utility network and the overall site. This includes:

  • Drainage Structures: Building concrete inlets, headwalls, and manholes that connect the underground pipes to the surface.

  • Bridge & Box Culverts: Construction of concrete structures designed to allow water to pass under roadways or through embankments.

  • Structural Concrete: Pouring the foundations and reinforced elements needed for large utility installations or site stabilization.

3. Operational Approach

  • Self-Performance: L.H. Lacy uses its own experienced crews and equipment to perform this work rather than subbing it out, which allows for tighter control over the project schedule.

  • Integrated Site Work: These services are often executed immediately following mass excavation and soil stabilization, ensuring that the “hidden” infrastructure is tested and backfilled before their paving teams begin surface work.

  • Project Range: Their utility and structure services are applied to a wide variety of environments, from new residential subdivisions and retail centers to complex municipal roadway expansions.
